Description

Located just outside the small town of Collbran, Colorado on Hwy. 330, BaseCamp is an 800 sq. ft. rustic cottage centrally located to the Grand Mesa (12-22 miles), Powderhorn Ski Resort (20 miles), and Vega State Park (10 miles). We built the vacation home with practical, outdoor enthusiasts in mind; it’s small and simple but rustic and cozy.

The old cinder block building has a long history of uses, including a chinchilla hut, garage, and music studio, before it was remodeled to a vacation rental in January 2021. The larger bedroom features a queen-size bed, the smaller bedroom a twin-size bunk bed, and the living room a double-size futon couch. BaseCamp can accommodate six people total. We’ve stocked the kitchen with everything you need including a few basic staple items like coffee and tea, flour and sugar. BaseCamp has free wi-fi, Roku TV, and the capability for online movie streaming. It's surprisingly comfortable and peaceful for how close it is to town.

Guests have full access to BaseCamp's amenities, including a private courtyard and dedicated parking area. BaseCamp is located on the same property as Grandma’s House, another vacation rental that is currently being remodeled, and the contractor may be living onsite in an RV while working on the project. There’s plenty of space for everyone, and during the construction, we do our best to respect the peace and quiet our guests come here to enjoy.

Rates

Nightly rate is $135 per night with a two-night minimum stay. Pets (max 2) are welcome for a $25 fee.

Basic cleaning is included in the nightly rate; if additional cleaning is required—such as for dirty dishes, outdoor trash, pet hair on bedding, or excessive laundry—an additional cleaning fee of $25 per hour may apply.

We kindly ask that you provide an accurate total guest count and include any pets in your reservation details, as this helps us properly plan for cleaning after your stay. Additional charges may be assessed after checkout for undisclosed guests or pets.

If you'd like to book directly, please submit a Reservation Request.

We will typically confirm availability within 24 hours and, if your dates are available, send you a rental agreement and payment instructions. Payment may be made via Venmo or credit card, but a valid credit card is required to hold on file in case of damage or additional cleaning fees.

While booking directly helps both of us avoid third-party service fees, please understand that the reservation process takes a bit longer, and your requested dates cannot be guaranteed until we receive the signed rental agreement and full payment.
